Okay, okay, I realize a lot of my posts recently have been incredibly sappy and self-reflective.
What’s up with that, huh?
Well, part of me would argue that a good coach also asks you to do a little self reflection! So self-reflect with me, people! While the other half of me knows I really just need to stop writing my blog posts in bed listening to a Ray Lamontagne/Van Morrison Pandora station that gets me ready and relaxed for bed.
That’s right folks, I’ll start listening to some 90’s gangsta rap (because is there any other kind, really?) and try to have some more morning coffee blog posts up in here (UP IN HERE). Yeah, I just made one of those rap-music references. Different time of day, still pretty lame!
So, let’s get to the meat of the story today, huh?
Well, there’s not too much of one. Work is tough (whose job isn’t stressful though?) thank goodness it’s HUMP DAY, and I went to my second consecutive yoga class! Go me on that last one!
On the docket for meals today:
I grabbed a shake in the morning because I have lately been staying in bed until the very last possible moment (okay, let’s be honest here, ten minutes later than I really should).
Lunch has been my chicken soup with fire roasted tomatoes, onion, celery, and yummy spices, afternoon snack of a grapefruit and mixed fancy nuts from Trader Joe’s – which I must just pause here for a minute and talk to you about Trader Joe’s fancy mixed nuts. Ever notice that when you buy mixed nuts and they advertise Brazil nuts there’s only ever like one or two in the bag and it’s totally just so the companies can advertise that they have Brazil nuts in there?! Well, these Trader Joe’s nuts have SO MANY BRAZIL NUTS in the bag. It’s really quite exciting.
Who’s excited with me? We’re talking about nuts here, big nuts.
Wow, this whole gangsta rap thing has taken these posts to a new level, huh?
I hope you’re as amused as I am!
Anyway, I digress. Back to the food.
So for dinner after the yoga class (notice I’m mentioning it again because I’m super proud of myself for making a second appearance) I made some roasted Brussels sprouts — truly one of my favorite veggies ever, I think I could eat them every day, and some pan-grilled chicken, with roasted garlic and oregano. Delish!
Happy Hump Day everybody!
I may as well reference that Humpty Hump song while I’m at it now.
Whoomp there it is!
OH MY GOD I CAN’T BE STOPPED!
